Yili opens dairy hub for milk, cheese and infant formula in north China

Yili has opened a dairy hub in the company’s home region of northern China to produce fresh milk, infant formula and cheese.

Inner Mongolia Yili Industrial Group Co., the full name of China’s largest dairy business, has invested CNY5bn (US$740.3m) in the project. Located in Hohhot, the capital of Inner Mongolia, the plant also houses a farm and pastureland and a visitor experience centre.

Named as the Global Smart Manufacturing Industrial Park, Yili said the site employs artificial intelligence and the Internet of things – the “most advanced technology and highest level of automation and digitisation”.

Yili added to mark the opening on 12 July: “Exploring the development of dairy industrial clusters, the programme is expected to boost regional economic growth and accelerate the growth of global health industries.”
