A member of The Daily News Journal’s Good Eats in the ‘Boro (and Beyond) Facebook group raved about Golden Grill Mongolian and Japanese Cuisine in Murfreesboro.
“A hidden gem” was the term used.
So my 17-year-old son and I decided to try Golden Grill, which is almost sight unseen because it’s tucked away in a small strip center at 2989 S. Church St. in Murfreesboro, adjacent to Auto Zone. Look for the faded restaurant flag stuck into the grass by the roadway.
At first, we were a little confused about whether to seat ourselves or how to order. But then we were greeted at the front by Nikky Huang, whose family owns and operates the restaurant. The family also owns Wasabi Japanese Steak House at 2812 Old Fort Parkway in Murfreesboro.
Huang helped us peruse the menu and offered suggestions on what dishes are most popular.
We paid and then sat down in the small dining room. This is a no-frills, fast-casual restaurant. But it’s quiet and clean.
