HopCat, known for its award-winning Cosmik Fries, has plans to return to Royal Oak.
After closing its Royal Oak location nearly two years ago, the popular gastropub known for its Cosmik Fries (formerly called “Crack Fries”) found a new home on Main Street in downtown Royal Oak.
HopCat is moving into two spaces on South Main Street previously occupied by bd Mongolian Grill and Noodles World Kitchen, Crain’s Detroit reported. While the bd Mongolian Grill space is vacant, a Noodles World Kitchen location is still open several doors north on the same block.
Originally located at 208 W. Fifth in Royal Oak, the HopCat location opened in 2017 in the space formerly occupied by Woody’s. BarFly Ventures, owner of HopCat, closed the Royal Oak location in 2020 citing a dispute with its landlord.
